Spray the cosmos

Manuel Ramirez, is the artist known as Phelany, pronounced feh-lah-nee (n.). Phelan Place Bronx, New York is the birth place of the Phelany moniker. In short, Phela-NY. Phelany has a passion for urban expression, creativity and craftsmanship. Early on in his artistic journey, his work was wild, colorful and elementary creatively, much in the manner of a Jean-Michel Basquiat. As he matured artistically, the works became more explorative, calculated, and with more context, much like an Andy Warhol precision.

Phelany creates his work with intention, filled with lore, bold color, meaning and quite emblematic. Inspiration for his work comes from within, and is influenced by many artists that came before and are well-known today. His favorite medium is spray paint, however Phelany creates with many other mediums, especially in the same surface. His ultimate goal is to deliver a thought-provoking, opinion-eliciting painting.
